Thirteenth  Sunday after Pentecost: 7 September 2025

Dearly Beloved Franciscans,
We are so blessed that our patron saint, St Francis of Assisi, holds such a deep and abiding place within eco-spirituality. On Sunday, we begin our Liturgical Season of Creation which offers us an intentional opportunity to examine, once more, how we’re doing in relation to God’s life-engendering vision for all life-forms. Our opening theme is “When the earth mourns”. As a title, this feels so incomplete as if there should be a “then”: “When the earths mourns then…..”.
I wonder what you would put into the “then….” space and I wonder how you feel the earth expresses her mourning?

Please note that on Sunday there is a race taking place around the Mark’s Park area extending all the way up to the Linden area. There are ways to circumnavigate this, but it will take some planning.
