Third Sunday after Pentecost: 29 June 2025

Dearly Beloved Franciscans,
“Your ordinary acts of love and hope point to the extraordinary promise that every human life is of inestimable value” (Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu).

As we bid Bishop Steve farewell from his episcopacy, we remember more intentionally the gift of his humanity. During the months ahead, we pray for him and Mme Liziwe. Times of transition and re-imaging are not easy, but can be deeply liberating as new beginnings open up and fresh possibilities are imagined. This holds true too for the Anglican Diocese of Johannesburg. How is God calling us to re-imagine the church globally and in this city? And how are being prompted to collaborate in this Divine vision?

In the midst of these significant changes, it is good to meet together in the familiarity of the Eucharist in person and online.
