Trinity Sunday: 15 June 2025

Dearly Beloved Franciscans,
3-in-1 and 1-in-3 is the inadequate “nonsensical” equation often associated with the doctrine of The Holy Trinity, which is what we celebrate liturgically on Sunday.  Too often we tie ourselves into convoluted knots trying to analyse, describe and define the mysterious, the infinite & the embodied relationality of the Godhead. Given this world’s propensity to label and often through this label dictate our response, there is something liberating about a God who is ultimately and mysteriously “more than” and “greater than”. The paradoxes inherent in the Christian faith may serve a beautiful purpose. They keep us humbly reliant on the Divine rather than on our own understanding; paradoxes in faith draw us into mystery and make this a valid part of life-experience; they keep us interested in and excited about the limitless possibilities of Life. So this year, rather than getting stuck in wrestling with the concept of Holy Trinity, what if we simply let the fullness of God take hold of us and we rest in the “enough-ness” of this.

Come and join us in the blessedness of Eucharist on Sunday @ 9.00am, either in person or through our livestream link:
