Third Sunday after the Epiphany, 26 January 2025
Dearly Beloved Franciscans, our Gospel Reading for Sunday has this wonderful quote from Isaiah about “…proclaiming good news to the poor..”. My sense is that in some or other form, we are all poor. By this I mean that on some level, each of us is still seeking wholeness and health. Certainly this emphasizes our ongoing need for God. What does “Good News” look like in your sphere of life? Can we accept that our apprenticeship to Jesus will mean that oftentimes Jesus asks us to be the tangible Good News in someone’s life. Other times, we will be the recipients thereof.
It’s so heart-warming to know that God’s Good News is not only for the economically poor.
Perhaps, as we encounter people each day, we need to ask “How can I be God’s Good News to this person…. and that person….and….?”
Come and be part of the Good News on Sunday at 8.30am either online or in-person. Herewith our livestream link:
