Rained out Golf day to Resume 18 August

St Francis of Assisi’s annual Golf Day was postponed on Friday (12 May) when unseasonal rain and electrical storms forced the full field to abandon play. The Golf Day will now be held on Friday, 18 August, thanks to the generosity of the Parkview Golf Club, which agreed to donate the green fees for the repeat day. Other expenses will still have to be met, but the planning committee is already hard at work ensuring that the day is as successful as ever. A wonderful spirit prevailed in spite of the event being postponed, and the raffle – which was to be drawn in July – will now continue until 18 August and the winners will be drawn at the Golf Day prize giving.

The young people of St Francis were also keenly involved with Tarren Dlamini and her sister, Mbali, getting in some practice on the practice green before teeing off.
