Patricia Glyn. 9th October 2014
“Park Views” on 9th October at 6pm
Patricia Glyn is a South African eco- adventurer, writer and inspirational speaker. She’s a former radio and television broadcaster, her books are best sellers in her home country and her keynote talks are highly sought after locally and internationally.
Previously at “Park Views” Patricia related her account of the Discovery expedition to Mount Everest in 2003. A few years later she recounted her 2 200 kilometre walk along the 19th century hunter/trader routes to the interior of Africa in the footsteps of her ancestor Sir Richard George Glyn.
On 9th October Patricia will talk about the time in April and May of 2011, when she spent time in the Kalahari with the Khomani Bushmen, recording and archiving their heritage sites in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and assisting the elders of the community in teaching the youngsters about their history and fast-disappearing culture.
