Zoom Invitation to funeral of Doris Vermooten

My dear Franciscans

Tomorrow, Wednesday May 13, at 2:00 pm we will celebrate the life of Doris Vermooten as we hold her funeral service at St Francis.

Given the regulations governing funerals under lockdown not many of us will be able to be physically present.  This is especially difficult for family members who are not able to be together at this. We derive huge comfort from mourning and celebrating together in person, and this of course, is not possible.

But the service will be on Zoom, so we will be able to gather as family and friends from across the country and the world and participate in the service.

Paul Germond is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Topic: Funeral Service for Doris Vermooten

Some basic Zoom etiquette

1 Please mute your microphone

The only mics that should be on are the ones in the service and those of people who are participating by speaking or reading from other locations.

If mics are on mute, we will have the best quality audio for everyone.

Bear in mind too that all sound will be amplified on the church PA system so that any background noise, including your coughs, will be heard loud and clear in the church

2. Video

A great benefit of using Zoom is that it will allows those of us watching to see who is “at the service”.  This will be of great comfort to us I am sure.  But we will not be able to greet each other.  However, once the service is underway and you have seen who is there, and if your screen keeps freezing, you can switch video off and simply listen in.

3. The service will be recorded

We will record the service on Zoom Cloud and make it available to everyone who might want it.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow as we celebrate the Doris’ life and comfort those who mourn.

With love

Paul
