Donations

Many thanks for your magnificent response to our appeal for donations for victims of xenophobia. We delivered two large loads of clothing, blankets and food this week. Thanks also to Claire Holden for organising the initiative and doing the deliveries. NotoxenoSeveral members of the parish, including our Rector, Father Tim Gray, made the parish’s “No2xenophobia” views clear by participating in this past Thursday’s Anti-Xenophobia march in central Joburg. Pictured is St Francis’s music director, Ruth Coggin, on the march, with Chantal Meugens.

Mysterious “crime” solved

The mysterious “murder” of “the koeksister” was well and truly solved last Saturday evening at St Francis.

DSC09415DSC09406Having quaffed a large variety of soups and bread, the audience engaged its collective brain to solve this dastardly deed. Prime “suspects” were Koeksister’s brother, Koos (played by Nigel Carmen), the Business Partner (played by Ludwig Frahm-Arp), the Lover (played by Ruth Coggin), and the Spouse (played by Val Hellman). Brian Wimpey was the Judge.

Above right, Koos the Brother (played by Nigel Carmen) is somewhat perplexed by the range of accusations made against him, while, above left, the full cast of “suspects” with Andrew Simpson on the right, consider some of the evidence presented.
