The Clergy, Church Wardens and Parish Council would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a blessed new Year.

Rose and I would especially like to say thank you for the support and love we have received over this last year. Many thanks to those who have provided us with meals. We are profoundly grateful for the many prayers that have upheld us and strengthened us. Thank you.

Various Dec_146_Christmas Lunch for Homeless People

Congratulations to Ann Pryor for the success of the Christmas Lunch for Homeless People last Tuesday. Many thanks to all the helpers and those who contributed to the menu items.  Some 150 people arrived for the lunch despite the wet weather.

 


 

St Francis PrayerThis Sunday 21st December – 4th Sunday in Advent

Sunday Duties: To see if you are on duty click here.  Please notify the parish office if you are unable to do a duty. If possible arrange with some else to do your duty but please still notify the parish office.

Readings: The lectionary readings for this Sunday 21st December 2014:   2 Samuel 7:1-11, 16;  Psalm 89:1-4, 19-26; Romans 16:26-27;  Luke 1:26-38.

In the evening there are CAROLS IN THE GARDEN at 5pm. Please bring a picnic and a blanket to sit on. Come with the whole family.

PLEASE NOTE THERE IS ONLY ONE EUCHARIST THIS SUNDAY AT 9.00 am.  

Also there will only be one eucharistic service on the 28th December as well as on the 4th and 11th January.

 There are no mid week services until 7th January 2015

  TOP INTERNATIONAL PIANIST TO PERFORM AT ST FRANCIS!

We are delighted to announce that leading German pianist, Florian Uhlig, will perform a solo recital at St Francis on Thursday 5 February 2015 at 19h30 as part of the Florien UhligJohannesburg International Mozart Festival, of which he is the artistic director.  Mr Uhlig has a demanding recital schedule that takes him to places as diverse as the concert halls of Berlin, New York, London and Paris, Hong Kong and Reykjavik.  We are privileged to have been given this opportunity by the JIMF.
