Dearly Beloved Franciscans,
Throughout August, our liturgical theme is COMPASSION.
IliaDelio, O.S.F., in her book Compassion, writes: “Compassion is a thread which binds together the deepest centres of life beyond the borders of race, gender, religion, tribe, or creature”.
This is such a profoundly caring “go to” when we find ourselves in conflict or alienation; we can ask the Spirit to gift us with real compassion. Surely this will change at least our viewpoint and thereby the way in which we present ourselves in complex, painful situations. What a blessing!
