Church Inclusive: Tenth Sunday After Pentecost, 6 August 2023
Dearly Beloved Franciscans
As we begin our sermon series this weekend on creating community, we’re also aware that 06 August is also the traditional date for the celebration of the Transfiguration of our Lord Jesus. It is such a glorious feast of transcendence on earth and of a heavenly conversation between the divine and the human. And yet, it also carries the horror of another kind of “cloud”. On the 06 August 1945, the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima with all of the longterm horror that we now know more about. Perhaps we can use this date to ask ourselves “what do I choose to propagate: the power of God which is transcendently loving, or, the power of the worldly which so often is toxic and destructive?.” May we always seek God as our touchstone and director in the midst of daily life.
Come and be welcomed into our midst either in-person or online on Sunday morning at 8.30am. herewith our live streaming link:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt35PbtR_ZhmeLxXjQ3EIBg
