Dear Franciscans
St Francis encourages a way of seeing that notices and attends to the wonder of God’s creation and the call on each of our lives to love and live this. We often miss that Francis was one of the most joyful saints. The more he let go of worldly wealth and status, the more he seemed to find joy in the simple matters of loving God and God’s creation. His delight in God’s everyday revelations was always an adventure to discover what was possible in God’s call to abundant life. As we reflect on this week and prepare to gather on Sunday, may our eyes see with the depth and priorities of St Francis and his life of radical faith, joy and love.
