Church Inclusive: Twelfth Sunday After Pentecost, 15 August 2021

Dear Franciscans

In James 5: 11 the author says ” As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.”   Compassion can be an act of perseverance.  Our faith story is one of persevering love – how God perseveres with the Israelites in the Hebrew Scriptures and how Jesus preserves with his disciples, family, friends, those in power and us.   May we too persevere with acts of compassion, steadfast prayer and abiding hope.   We are not alone.
