South Africa is a young democracy, just 25 years old. There is a good deal to be cheerful about, despite the gloom that prevails in many quarters. For instance, the Business Confidence Index is at its lowest since 1998, but the turnaround in the county’s economy will come, and when it does it will be both swift and significant.
