In 1926 Herman Charles Bosman was posted to the Groot Marico district in the old Northern Transvaal as a school teacher. His stay there was only six months but this short stint informed all his stories about the Marico and the well known characters he created.
“A TEACHER IN THE BUSHVELD” is Bosman in his own words telling the stories of the characters he encountered during his stay in the bushveld.
Come to “A TEACHER IN THE BUSHVELD” and enjoy the often hilarious and heartbreaking moments in stories like “School Concert”, ”White Ant”, and “The Affair at Ysterspruit”.
David Butler has performed this one-man show to great acclaim at all the major arts festivals and at the Baxter theatre in Cape Town and the Market theatre in Johannesburg.
