April:  http://www.mikegecko.com/shared_reports/dutyroster1.html/

Palm Sunday will be celebrated next week, 29 March 2015, with a combined service at 09h00. We will be making crosses on Saturday 28 March from 9.15am. Please join us at the church if you are able to help. We need palm branches for decorating the church and for making palm crosses. If you have palm branches, please bring them to Donald at the church during the week.

We will also be having a special tea after the service to celebrate Rose Gray’s 60th birthday.

Lent meditations:

A meditation on “Stations of the Cross” is taking place every Thursday evening during Lent (up to the beginning of Holy Week) from 5.30 pm. These take the form of meditations and prayers based on the beautiful prints in a wood-cut medium by the famous South African artist, Cecil Skotnes, that are displayed on the walls of our church. On Saturday mornings, there is a 45-minute meditation starting at 8.30am. Both these meditations take place in the church.

Upcoming events:

An Easter craft market will be held in the Church gardens on Sunday 22 March 2015. Parishioners who have a creative hobby are invited to participate. Part of the proceeds to be donated to the Church, and you are asked to limit the sales price of your items to R200 or less.

We are excited by the number of 4-ball entries we have received so far for our Golf Day on 15th of May. Please continue to encourage your work colleagues and friends to participate in this important parish fundraising event. We also need sponsorships and prizes and ask that you consider how you might be involved in this. Speak to Keith on 082-416-5105, Mymie on 082-651-3621, or Theo on 082-900-0168.

“To Kill a Koeksister” will be staged at St Francis on Saturday 18th April at 6pm. It’s a “whodunit” affair where the audience may get involved in solving the mystery. You, or the person next to you, may be a suspect! We will have soup, bread, coffee and (of course) a koeksister! Bring your own drinks. It will be great fun.

Booking with Bart Cox at 011-447-1139 or bcox@telkomsa.net. Bring your family and friends.

Feedback:

In response to requests, the weekly pew leaflet is now published on our website on a Friday once it has been finalised for the following Sunday. Click here, scroll down to the date you are looking for, and then click on the link. Please note that, once you have reached the pew leaflet site, you will need to zoom in (see icon on the top right of the screen that looks like a magnifying glass with a + sign in it) to be able to see it properly.
